From a route to a clean track

A GPX route is made of loose route points. Some GPS devices then "recalculate" on the trail when you stray, just like car navigation — in the field that can send you the wrong way. A track is a continuous line your device simply follows. This tool turns your route into a clean track without changing its shape.

  1. Upload your GPX file in the sidebar
  2. Choose whether to keep loose waypoints
  3. Download the clean track and load it onto your GPS
Also works for "Frankenstein" files: a track with hundreds of loose waypoints inside. Those points are stripped out, unless you choose to keep them.
